Thanks to President Jason and the rest of the Community League for the opportunity to present the Bessie Nichols and Winterburn Schools attendance area changes.  The efforts of the Community League and the residents west of Henday had a tremendous impact on shaping the decisions to better meet community desires. These include: retaining the K-Grade 9 configuration; grandfathering of current students; choosing Hillcrest Junior High for those JH students not covered by grandfathering to try and avoid a bus transfer at West Edmonton Mall; the Board’s decision to fund modulars and portables for Bessie Nichols from District capital reserves; successful advocacy for the new Lewis Farms junior high school for 2016; and ranking  a new K-9school for Granville / Glastonbury as the District’s #2 priority request for provincial capital funding.

It was great to share the stage with MLA Matt Jeneroux and to once again see Councillor Michael Oshry present.  Having worked with Matt and Michael, I believe the community is very well served by both these dedicated and responsive elected folks.

Thanks for making my job in serving the community very rewarding.
